Beautiful Blythwood Ravine
You don’t have to step far from a subway or Starbucks to find water, woods and wilderness in the heart of Toronto. The city is cross-hatched with ravines and parks, which were and still are waterways feeding into Lake Ontario.
Blythwood Ravine is part of a much longer trail commencing at Yonge & Lawrence, which snakes under Mount Pleasant Road and Bayview Avenue to Sunnybrook Park and beyond. It is one of the most beautiful stretches of forested trail, yet very much a local secret.
Follow the creek from Alex Muir Gardens to Sherwood Park, just each of Mount Pleasant Road. It is one of the largest remaining protected natural areas in the city and some of the huge trees are at least 150 years old. It’s a beautiful shaded walk, with several off-leash areas for dogs. What an amazing resource for local families!
