Wychwood Barns A Community Meeting Place
Wychwood Barns is a community meeting place in the, providing lush parkland, live-work paces for local artists a weekly farmers’ market, seasonal festivals and many year round activities.
Previously TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) streetcar maintenance facility, the complex was redeveloped in 2008. It is now administered by Toronto Artscape, a non-profit arts organization.
This historical complex is made up of 5 buildings on 4.3 acres and has become a popular destination for residents in the adjoining neighbourhoods of Casa Loma, Wychwood Park and Hillcrest Village/Bracondale.
It provides live-work spaces for artists and non-profit organizations, a community-run gallery and a 7,680 covered “street” for farmers and art markets, conferences and events.
Today the Wychwood Barns functions as a successful community centre and multi-use park for the surrounding community and general public.
