- Research the costs
- Work your way through the Importer Checklist tool to:
- Determine if your vehicle is admissible
- Obtain your recall clearance documents from the manufacturer
- Submit your documents to obtain your ‘Form 2’ (RIV Inspection Form)
At the Border
Clearing customs, you will receive:
- Canada Customs Imported Goods Receipt
- Canada Customs ‘Form 1’
In Toronto
RIV (Registrar of Imported Vehicles) Inspection
- They will stamp your ‘Form 1’ and ‘Form 2’ which will be required when you Register Your Car
(can be done at many Canadian Tire locations, free of charge; we suggest you get this done with your Safety Standards Inspection and Drive Clean test also needed for registration).
